OLYMPIA, Wash. — USDA NASS released vegetable utilized production values for the Northwest Region.
Asparagus value of utilized production in Washington totaled $13.5 million, down 8 percent from 2021. Washington accounted for 28 percent of national utilized production.
Snap beans in Oregon had a $15.4 million total value of utilized production, down 24 percent from 2021. Oregon accounted for 6 percent of national utilized production.
Carrots in Washington had a $251 million value of utilized production in 2022, up 46 percent from 2021. Washington accounted for 16 percent of national utilized production.
Sweet corn value of utilized production in Oregon was $29.9 million in 2022, up 33 percent from 2021. Washington sweet corn utilized production was valued at $114 million, up 14 percent from last year. These two states accounted for 31 percent of national utilized production.
Onions in Idaho were valued at $123 million, down 9 percent from 2021. Oregon onions had a total value of utilized production of $226 million, up 25 percent from last year. Washington onions were valued at $368 million, up 72 percent from 2021. The three states published in the Pacific Northwest accounted for 54 percent of the national utilized production.
Green peas in Oregon had a total utilized value of production of $8.48 million, up 273 percent from last year.
Washington green peas were valued at $32.6 million, up 34 percent from 2021. These two states accounted for 48 percent of national utilized production.
Pumpkins in Oregon were value at $21.8 million, up 53 percent form 2021. Washington pumpkins utilized value of production was $32.0 million, up 46 percent from last year. These two states accounted for 8 percent of the national utilized production.
Squash in Oregon had a total utilized value of production of $7.59 million, down 50 percent from 2021. Oregon accounted for 7 percent of the national utilized production.
