WINTON, N.C. — In the document below, you will find a summarized table of regional results from the 2022 N.C. Cooperative Extension corn variety trials located in Bertie, Hertford, Martin, and Nash counties.
Page 1: Varieties are listed in descending order according to average yield across the four locations (i.e. 1 (highest yielding) to 16 (lowest yielding). Within locations the varieties are ranked in descending order according to yield from highest (1) to the lowest yielding variety (18). The top three yielding varieties within locations and across locations have their ranking marked as following: 1 (blue), 2 (red), 3 (yellow).
Page 2: Production information for each location. Thank you to each of the local growers and agribusinesses for their contributions to these trials. Without their support, we would not be able to provide this locally generated information to the region’s growers.
With difficult growing conditions this season (14.35 total inches of rainfall at the Hertford location in Harrellsville), this test provided valuable information on each hybrid’s ability to perform under stress.
A special thank you to Billy Mizelle for serving as the cooperator for Hertford County!!
