KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Each year, the Western Farm Show features one of the Midwest’s largest displays of new equipment and other agricultural products under one roof. The 2020 show, to be held Friday through Sunday, Feb. 21-23 at the American Royal in Kansas City, will be no exception, with over 500 exhibitors displaying the latest products and services designed to help producers improve productivity.
This year, the 59th annual Western Farm Show is previewing some of those new offerings on its website. Brief descriptions can be found on the New Products page, which can be accessed from the Attendees tab on the home page, westernfarmshow.com.
The vast array of new products will run the gamut from planting, harvesting and application equipment to seed, fertilizer and farm buildings. Ranchers can browse a selection of livestock nutritional products and equipment, including head gates, hydraulic chutes, feeders and waterers. Attendees in the market for precision farming technologies, pumping systems, tools, construction equipment, irrigation and drainage equipment, fencing or balers can also find those items, plus many more on the show’s two levels that comprise over 400,000 square feet.
“Every year, our exhibitors roll out their newest products and technologies to showcase at the event,” says show manager, Ken Dean. “New innovations are always a major draw at the Western Farm Show, in addition to the many other family-oriented attractions.”
Those attractions include a livestock low-stress demonstration held twice on Saturday, Feb. 22, in the Scott Pavilion adjacent to the American Royal, included with a show paid admission; the Health & Safety Roundup, featuring free health screenings and safety displays; and the Family Living Center offering clothing, crafts, food, and health and home décor products. Friday, Feb. 21, is FFA Day at the show, with 3,000 students from Missouri and Kansas expected to attend and participate in the annual Western Farm Show Food Drive.
Military Appreciation Day Feb. 23
Also returning for the 2020 show will be Military Appreciation Day on Sunday, Feb. 23. Free show admission will be provided for veterans and active-duty service personnel with appropriate identification. “We’re very proud to honor current and former members of the armed services and welcome them again to the Western Farm Show,” said Dean.
The Western Farm Show is produced by the Western Equipment Dealers Association, which represents regional agricultural equipment dealers. Show hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 21-22, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23. Adult tickets are $10 daily. Children ages 12 and under are free.
