CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — NRCS State Conservationist Ivan Dozier encourages livestock owners and operators in northern Illinois to make plans now to spend a day learning more about grass and forage solutions at the 2019 Illinois Forage Expo. The event will be held Wednesday June 19 from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Mitchell Dairy and Grain Farm in Winnebago, Ill.
Activities for the day include an Education Program, Quality Hay and Haylage Contest, Forage Equipment demonstrations, and Dairy facility/operations tours (a.m. & p.m.). The Forage Expo is sponsored by the Illinois Forage and Grassland Council and the Northwest Illinois Forage and Grassland Council and supported by USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the University of Illinois Extension.
Farmers, vendors or businesses interested in exhibiting or demonstrating equipment should contact Don Brown at 815-238-8372 or email don.brownjr708@gmail.com. There will be 10’ x 10’ indoor exhibits and 25’ x 25’ outdoor exhibits spaces available. Additional space may be purchased. There is no cost to attend the Expo. Lunch and drinks can/may be purchased on site.
