WATERLOO, N.Y. — Plan now on attending the Annual Finger Lakes Craft Beverage Conference being held on Tuesday, March 26th from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the beautiful del Lago Resort and Casino in Waterloo, NY. Hosted by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Seneca County to support producers in the craft beverage industry in New York State, it will feature presentations of interest to both Cideries and Breweries. Whether you are an established craft beverage company, are thinking about starting a brewery or cidery, or just want to learn more about this industry, this conference is for you. Participants can expect to hear from a wide variety of expert speakers providing current information on the state of the craft beverage industry, ways to market and improve your business, the latest updates effecting breweries and cideries from the NYS Liquor Authority and Empire State Development, the NY Grown and Certified Program, and individual success stories. Networking opportunities are plentiful with a quality Trade Show featuring various craft beverage related businesses and organizations, social hour, and optional Dutch Treat dinner at Parker’s Grille and Tap House in nearby Seneca Falls. The FLCBC is sponsored by Waterloo Container. Registration by March 20th is $100 and includes materials, continental breakfast, lunch, post-conference social hour and a 2019 Finger Lakes Craft Beverage Conference glass. After March 20th the registration cost will increase to $115.
The day after the main conference, Wednesday March 27th, will feature field trips relevant to both cideries and breweries. Details are still being determined, but past participants have found these trips to be quite beneficial, giving them a chance to see someone else’s operation and ask questions. Space is limited for the field trips, so please register early. Registration for a field trip costs $25 and includes light refreshments.

The Finger Lakes Craft Beverage Conference, organized by Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension, began in 2013 as the Brewery and Cidery Startup Workshop. The main purpose was to provide a place where someone could get the information and contacts they needed to start a brewery or cidery in New York State. In 2015, the name was changed to reflect the addition of a new objective – to provide people involved with existing craft beverage businesses with information they can use to improve their business.
With over 100 years serving the people of the County, Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension puts to practical use the scholarship and research of Cornell University and the national land grant system in the areas of agriculture and food systems sustainability; nutrition, food safety and security, and obesity prevention; 4-H youth development, and children, youth, and families; environment and natural resources, sustainable energy and climate change; and community and economic vitality.
