SENECA CO., N.Y. — Ever wanted to get a behind the scenes look at what happens at one of the state’s premier Craft Brewery and Cidery operations? On Wednesday, March 27th you will have your chance. As part of the 2019 Finger Lakes Craft Beverage Conference, Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension will host a field trip to the award winning War Horse Brewing Company and Red Apple Bombshell Cidery at Three Brothers Winery and Estates on Seneca Lake just south of Geneva, NY. From 9 AM to noon, participants will receive an insider’s tour of the two operations conducted by founder and owner Dave Mansfield. Attendees are invited to stay afterwards and enjoy lunch in the Iron Heart Coffee Company’s Café for a small additional fee. Registration for the field trip is $25 and includes a FL Craft Beverage Conference commemorative glass plus a $5.00 voucher to be used that morning at either the Café for lunch, gift shop or tasting room. Space is limited, so please register early. You do not need to be registered for the entire conference to participate and the tour is open to the general public.
“We are thilled and grateful that Dave Mansfield will be giving us this behind the scenes look at War Horse and Bombshell” said Ave Bauder, Executive Director of Seneca County CCE. “If you have ever visited Three Brothers you know what an experience it is, and to get a chance to see and hear how Dave built his vision is a not to be missed opportunity for both our conference attendees and the general public that live in the area.”
War Horse began brewing on-site in 2016 with a 15 barrel system and seven 30 barrel fermentation vessels. They strive to use local ingredients like the Glen Edith Coffee Roaster Beans in their Breakfast with Churchill Oatmeal Stout. Bombshell Cider is made with 100% NYS apples and features several different flavors.
