JUNEAU, Wis. — It’s no secret that dairy farms and the dairy industry are an important part of Wisconsin’s rural communities and economy. However, community leaders, elected officials and citizens often have questions about modern dairy farming practices and business models.

A series of 2018 PDPW ACE On-the-Farm Twilight Meetings scheduled for August 27-31 and hosted by Wisconsin Towns Association, Wisconsin Counties Association and Professional Dairy Producers® (PDPW). Through a joint initiative called Agricultural Community Engagement® (ACE), the three organizations will provide an opportunity for open discussions on farming practices, resources and any other topics important to Wisconsin communities.

Each meeting is free and open to the public, beginning with a dairy farm tour at 6:00 p.m., followed by ice cream at 7:00 p.m., and facilitated discussion about dairy farming that will last until about 8:30 p.m.

The Twilight meetings will be held:

Monday, August 27 – Kellercrest Holsteins, 1141 County Hwy JG South, Mount Horeb, Wis.
Tuesday, August 28 – Miltrim Farms, 1715 W. Townline Road, Athens, Wis.
Wednesday, August 29 – Brey Cycle Farm LLC, 2139 County Road O, Sturgeon Bay, Wis.
Thursday, August 30 – Double S Dairy, N3447 Marshview Road., Markesan, Wis.

“We’re excited to offer these Twilight meetings for community members to engage with dairy farm families and see modern agriculture firsthand,” said Cassie Mayer, PDPW Program Manager and dairy farmer in Slinger, Wis. “The discussions between community and business leaders, elected officials and dairy farmers are extremely valuable. We are dedicated to provide the platform through our ACE partnership with the Wisconsin Counties and Wisconsin Towns Associations and producer-led committee, to create a venue that will enable those conversations and help find common ground where we can grow together in rural America.”

Please RSVP online at www.PDPW.org or call 1-800-947-7379 or mail@pdpw.org. Follow along digitally in advance of and during the event by following @dairyPDPW and using #ACEtwilight2018 on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

Professional Dairy Producers (PDPW) is the nation’s largest dairy producer-led organization of its kind, focusing on producer professionalism, stakeholder engagement and unified outreach to share ideas, solutions, resources and experiences that help dairy producers succeed.
