SALEM, Mo. — March 12, 2018 will mark the 25th year of providing information to livestock and forage producers at the Forage & Beef Conference. The Natural Resources Conservation Service, Soil and Water Conservation Districts and University of Missouri Extension from Phelps, Crawford, Dent, Maries and Gasconade Counties are once again planning for another successful conference for area landowners. Registration starts at 12:30 pm and the first speaker at 1:00 pm.
The event will begin with participants learning about programs and cost-share practices that are offered through USDA, SWCD and MDC. Wesley Tucker, Agriculture Business Specialist with University of Missouri Extension, will provide valuable insight on Lease Agreements. Cow/Calf Mineral Nutrition will be the topic of Dr. Eric Bailey, State Beef Extension Specialist with University of Missouri. The Producer Panel this year will focus on Grass Fed Marketing.
The keynote speaker this year is Dr. Jason Salchow, doctor of veterinarian medicine from Missouri State University. Dr. Salchow’s topic is “Custom Grazing, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly”.
Agriculture vendors will be available to visit prior to the start of the conference and during breaks. Cost for this event is $10 per person, which include all sessions and evening meal.
