RALEIGH, N.C.–The 2018 meeting season is upon us. We currently have several cotton production meetings slated across the state from January 30th through February 27th. These meetings will include the latest applied research and extension recommendations regarding cotton agronomics, variety selection, insect and weed control. Additionally, meeting dates and times for these production meetings can be found at the NCSU Cotton Portal Website under âEventsâ near the top of the main page.
Additionally, there will be separate training offered to producers by Drs. York and Jordan regarding management and stewardship of  auxin herbicides. This training, by NC 24-C labels, is mandatory for both Xtend and Enlist technologies and applies to ALL applicators (including all sprayer operators who work on a farm, not just a representative from the farm), even if you had the training last year. Proof of training must be presented for purchase of the chemistries.
The 2018 Auxin Stewardship Training Schedule includes dates, locations, and times for the mandatory auxin training. There will be a total of 30 training statewide from January 25th â March 12th, so be sure to attend one near you. The reason we mention these training here is that some of the training will occur on the same day as your local cotton production meeting, however most auxin training will be separate events on a different date. Be sure to contact your local county extension agent for details about these cotton production meetings and/or auxin training near you.
