BROOME CO., N.Y. — The Broome County 4-H Market Sale was held on Saturday, July 28th during the Broome County Fair. The sale is a culmination of a yearlong project for youth to learn to properly care for and market their 4-H project animal. Youth are learning valuable life skills from business planning, marketing, proper animal care, housing and animal needs to name just a few. Youth work with their families and Cornell Cooperative Extension to grow, raise and sell their animals to local businesses and community members so that they can be able to purchase a local product from the youth. This year 4-H youth sold turkeys, chickens, goats, sheep, beef and pigs.
We would like to thank Manasse Auctioneer for their service, Glezen Farms for transportation and the Broome County Fair Board for their support.
