NORMAN, Okla. — Hundreds of farmers and ranchers will gather for the 2017 Oklahoma Farm Bureau Annual Meeting Nov. 10-12 at the Embassy Suites in Norman, Oklahoma. “75 Years Strong,” is the theme of the three-day convention, where the state’s leading agricultural organization will culminate its yearlong 75th anniversary celebration. OKFB will honor its top members and county Farm Bureaus, set grassroots policy for 2018, elect leaders and more.
Highlights include:
- Opening session welcome and prayer by Lt. Gov. Todd Lamb (Friday afternoon)
- Presentations by Dr. Thomas G. Coon, Oklahoma State University Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Vice President, Dean and Director and Bill Buckner, Noble Research Institute President and CEO (Friday afternoon)
- Presentation by American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall (Saturday morning)
- Recognition of the 2017 OKFB District Farm and Ranch Families, naming of the top young farmer and rancher, and other awards (Friday afternoon)
- Farm Bureau policy development sessions (Saturday morning and afternoon)
- Breakout sessions discussing rural education, rural healthcare and the oil and gas industry (Friday afternoon)
- Election of OKFB president and state directors (Saturday afternoon)
- Recognition of legislators who supported rural Oklahoma (Saturday evening)
- Entertainment by country music singer Crystal Gayle (Saturday evening)
- Trade show featuring agricultural and other vendors (Friday and Saturday)
