SPENCER, Iowa — The Clay County Fair is proud to announce that for KING & COUNTRY, joined by Sidwalk Prophets and Jordan Feliz, will take the U.S. Cellular Grandstand stage on Tuesday, September 12 at 7:30pm.
“Contemporary Christian music has become a Fair tradition on Family Night (free admission for everyone after 5:00pm on Tuesday, September 12),” said Fair Manager Jeremy Parsons. “These three acts will create an unforgettable worship experience.”
The duo for KING & COUNTRY, comprised of Australian brothers Joel and Luke, has accomplished several notable feats. They were named New Artist of the Year at the 2013 GMA Dove Awards, where they received six nominations. Billboard named them as one of the New Artists to Watch for 2012 and the band took home two GRAMMY trophies in February 2015, triumphing in both of their nominated categories with their sophomore album, Run Wild. Live Free. Run Strong.
Alternative-minded Christian rock group Sidewalk Prophets formed in 2003 when founding members Dave Frey and Ben McDonald were attending college at Anderson University. A roughly recorded demo was entered into an on-campus contest, which eventually led them to meetings with record executives and large-scale performances.
A band known for spending more days on the road than anywhere else, the quiet seclusion of the cabin helped Ben and Dave create what might be their most honest and musically diverse album yet. Released from Fervent Records in August, Something Different was created during a unique and challenging time for the band.
What artist launched his career as a hard-touring heavy metal singer, then switched gears to become a church worship leader, before finally signing a Nashville record deal and making his mark as a songwriter and soulful R&B-groove-pop artist? Well, if the question comes up some day, you’ll already know the answer: Jordan Feliz.
Tickets will go on sale Thursday, February 2nd at 10:00am. Prices are $35 (general admission stage front standing), $30 (reserved Grandstand seating), and $25 (general admission bleacher seating). Tickets will be available online at www.midwestix.com, by phone at 515-244-2771, or in person at the Events Center Box Office. There will be no additional fees applied to any of these purchase methods.
