COLUSA, Calif. — Dorene “Dee Dee” D’Adamo will provide the keynote address at the 15th annual Colusa Farm Show Rabobank Breakfast. The breakfast will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017 in Saint Bernadette’s Hall, 745 Ware St., in Colusa, California, beginning at 7 a.m.

D’Adamo was appointed to the State Water Resources Control Board in 2013. She previously served on the California Air Resources Control Board under governors Jerry Brown, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Gray Davis, and she was a senior policy advisor for both congressmen Jim Costa and Dennis Cardoza. D’Adamo earned a Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. D’Adamo lives in Turlock and is married to a farmer.

Breakfast committee chairman Les Heringer said the committee is pleased to have D’Adamo as the guest speaker.

“In her role as a director on the State Water Resources Control Board, she is very involved in the Sustainable Groundwater Management Plan and minimum flow requirements for fish now being discussed on the San Joaquin River and Sacramento River systems,” Heringer said. “These are issues that are relevant and timely for our audience.”

Vernon Crowder, senior vice president and agricultural economist for Rabobank’s Food & Agribusiness Research and Advisory (FAR) group, will provide his annual economic report. Crowder and his team analyze and conduct market research on California agribusiness as well as the North American fresh fruit and produce sectors. Crowder is a graduate of the California Agricultural Leadership Program.

Hosted by alumni of the CSU, Chico College of Agriculture, California Agricultural Leadership Foundation, and Alpha Gamma Rho, the event has raised more than $300,000 for scholarships and leadership programs in its 15-year history.

Sponsorships are still available, and tickets can be purchased in advance for $40 by contacting the College of Agriculture Office at 530-898-5844. The ticket price will rise to $50 at the door. All proceeds go to the CSU, Chico College of Agriculture and the California Agricultural Leadership Foundation.
