CHAZY, N.Y. — Miner Institute is excited to host a Belmont Stakes Party on Saturday, June 6 from 3 to 7 p.m. Celebrate the 147th running of the Belmont Stakes – the oldest, longest, and NY-run leg of Thoroughbred racing’s Triple Crown. We’ll see if American Pharoah will become the 12th Triple Crown Champion and the first since Affirmed won all three races – the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness, and the Belmont Stakes – in 1978.

We encourage you to interact with the Miner Morgan horses in the historic horse barn at Miner Institute, enjoy some refreshments, walk through the Heart’s Delight Farm Heritage Exhibit, and of course, enjoy the race, which will start around 6:30 pm!

Other activities include a stick horse decorating station and race at 3:30 pm; a Morgan Horse judging demonstration with commentary at 5 pm; and a hat/best dressed contest at 6 pm. We will also offer opportunities to wager on who will win the race for a chance to take home a prize “purse” donated by Adirondack Tack. All money raised will be donated to Forever Morgans, a rescue charity that works to help save and rehome Morgan horses in need.
